A number of Marathi celebrities have come forward to lend support to the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. While each person is contributing in his/her own unique way to support the victims, many have joined hands with authentic organizations and channels to ensure that help reaches the right place in due time.

Makarand Anaspure and his wife Shilpa, are donating medicines and utility objects such as bed sheets, shawls, sanitary napkins and soaps.
Makrand said, Roughly 80 types of medicines are required to treat those affected. Currently we are sorting out the names with the help of an organization and are visiting wholesalers to buy the utilities which we will then hand over to the organisation. He added, I recently shot for a film in Nepal and got to know many locals who were associated with the film as spot boys and makeup artistes. Though I have not been able to contact them I would like to help them personally.
Director Dr Mrunalinni Patil has appealed to her friends via a social networking platform to donate 25 rotis each. Last night the director wrote a message which said, Every person needs to contribute 25 rotis. We will send them to the affected area and make sure they get distributed and consumed within 72 hours of making (sic). When we contacted Patil to know more about the initiative, she informed, Every effort will count. Hence, my friends and I have decided to send staple food items like rotis and theplas which have a shelf life of two-three days. I have also shared contact numbers of collection centres in Mumbai so that maximum people can donate. By today afternoon we plan to hand it over to an organization in Mumbai which will dispatch the packages in bulk carriers.

Ajinkya Deo has tied up with the Juhu Club, Mumbai and has donated eatables like theplas and dry fruits in bulk. We have also sent clothes for the victims and plastic sheets as it is raining off and on there. Its a very sad situation. If every family directs the amount they spend on one weekend for entertainment towards this cause, it will make a huge difference. Ajinkya plans to send more relief material through the BMC relief collection centre set up at Juhu Koliwada in Mumbai.
The Manjrekar family too has tied up with a reputed organization to do their bit. Mahesh Manjrekars actor-producer wife Medha said, I feel it is a testing time for humanity and everyone should come forward to contribute towards this cause. It could have been us in their place. We are sending bottles of drinking water and long-lasting food items like biscuits. I am spreading the message on various social groups and lots of my friends are helping too.
